Dress Code Reminders
When purchasing skorts, skirts, shorts, and jumpers, please note that the length should not be shorter than 2 inches above the knee.
No athletic wear is allowed except for $1 Friday Dress Down Days and/or $1 Hat Days. No running shorts are allowed at any time, including the dress down day.
No clothing (hats, sweatshirts, shirts, pants, etc. on any day of the week, including Monday Dress Theme Days or Friday Dress Down Days, Field Days, other non-dress code days) that displays inappropriate material (to be determined by administration) to include anything political, violent, or disparaging words or comments.
Students are allowed to wear any solid color bottoms (skirt, skort, pants, shorts) this year. There was a typo in the handbook that indicated only pants could be any color.
Pajams are not allowed to be worn to school on $1 Dress Down/$1 Hat Fridays. They can only be worn if the Monday Dress Theme is "Pajama Day."
Sweatshirts/Hoodies Reminder
Only solid-colored sweatshirts/hoodies are allowed on Monday-Thursdays. There can be no wording or graphics on the front, back, or sleeves. A solid-colored polo-style shirt or LABCS t-shirt is required under the sweatshirt/hoodie.
Drop-Off/Pick-Up
Please note that there is only one entrance and a different exit for the property. All cars must enter off of Hwy. 93/E. Main Street and exit onto Frank Parrott Road (see map).
It is imperative that you do not use the entrance as an exit as this can be dangerous for those pulling in. It has been observed several times this week where cars are using the entrance as an exit. On Friday, one van was leaving the parking lot in the wrong direction as a car was entering correctly and came face-to-face near the zipper merge, which could have caused an accident if one or both drivers were not paying attention. Because the SCDOT created the traffic pattern on the school's property, if there is an accident, and a car is going the wrong way, the driver of that car will be found at fault.
Do not move cones that are in the parking lot; they are there to keep our students, teachers, families, and anyone else on our property safe.
Students can be dropped off between 7:45-8:15 by following the traffic pattern to the far side of the building. Someone will be out there around 7:45 to allow students into the building. Please do not let your child out of the car without a faculty/staff member out there.
Car tags will be handed out at Meet the Teacher so that you can display this in the dash to allow for efficiency in calling out names of students to a pick-up place.
If you need to drop off before 7:45, there is a fee of $5/day/child to drop off between 7:15-7:45. You will need to walk your child to the main entrance doors (where the tan awning is), or you can drop off directly in front of the doors. Do not leave without the early-stay teacher being present in the school's lobby.
Dismissal begins just prior to 3:00. If your car is stuck on the road trying to turn right into the parking lot, please put your flashers on so other cars can see you, or you can drive past the school, do a U-turn, and get into the turning lane to turn left.
It is important that there aren't large gaps between cars so that we can get as many cars on the property as possible. The two lanes zip merge into one lane, so please be respectful and alternate the merge without cutting someone off.
Around 3:15, students who are still left in the Dragon's Den are moved to the front lobby where they will be picked up. If you go to the pick-up area and no one is outside, please drive around the building to the main entrance to pick-up your child. Students will need to get picked up by 3:30 to avoid a charge. Any student picked up between 3:30-4:00 will incur a charge of $5/day/child. All students must be picked up no later than 4:00.
