Thank you:
- belatedly to "Principal" Cutolo for the snacks for the faculty on "Principal for a Day"
- to all who supported the school throughout this year; it is hard to believe we are down to 5 days left!
We apologize in advance to anyone we accidentally left off.

Awards Assemblies and 8th Grade Graduation
Please see the schedule below for the assemblies and graduation on Friday, May 23. Due to space limitations in the Dragon's Den, we only have room for immediate family for all of these events (parents or guardians and siblings).
- 8:30-9:00 - Grades 1-3
- 9:10-9:50 - Grades 4-5
- 10:00-10:30 - Grades 6-8
- 10:45-12:00 - 8th Grade Graduation
Lunches
Please double-check each morning that your child has their lunch as they leave the house and then again before they exit the car. We keep a limited supply for emergencies, but we have had more requests lately due to students leaving their lunches at home or in the car.
Please remember to pack silverware for your child's lunch. Please make sure your child has a water bottle and a snack at school.
Dress Code
Please make sure your child is in the correct dress code as well (this is in the Student and Parent Handbook) before leaving the house. We have students who are arriving at school out of dress code. Students out of dress code will be required to visit the Uniform Closet and might be unable to participate in Dress Down Friday that week.
NO leggings, pajamas, or athletic/biker/running shorts are allowed on any day, including Friday Dress Down Days.
Lost and Found
We have a HUGE Lost and Found collection. Please feel free to stop by the school and see if any of the items belong to your student. All items not claimed by Friday, May 23, will be donated to the Dream Center.
State Testing Dates
Below are the dates for the remainder of state testing. Make sure your child is at school by 8:15 each morning. It is important that students get to bed at a reasonable time the night before and eat a good breakfast. You can access our State Testing Policies and Procedures on our website by clicking here.
- May 19 - State Testing Make-Up Day
- May 20 - Grades 4 and 6 (Science)
A Note from the PTA
We are still looking for PTA board members for next year. If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Courtney Evert at [email protected]
Summer Reading Projects
Returning students in rising grades 6-8 are required to complete a Summer Reading Project. These are due Friday, August 8, 2025, when we return to school. These will count as a major test grade in ELA. This information is on our website and can be accessed here.
Summer Enrichment Camps
If you are interested in your returning rising 3rd-8th grade student participating in the Summer Math and/or ELA Enrichment Camps, please register by May 9 using this link. For more information on the camp, click here. These camps are different from the 3rd grade Summer Reading Camp under Read to Succeed.
This is only available to LABCS students returning for the 2025-2026 school year.
Field Day Volunteers Needed
If you are interested in volunteering with Field Day, please reach out to Coach Chris ( [email protected]). The success of our annual Field Days is dependent upon volunteers. Field Day will be held the morning of Thursday, May 22 from 9:00-11:45.
