- Spirit Wear – brainstorm designs, choose items families will love, and assist with order distribution.
- Communications – create graphics, share updates on our website/newsletter, and spread the word about all the great things happening at LAB.
- Teacher & Student Appreciation – plan and support events that celebrate our amazing teachers and students.
New committees will launch in the spring, but don’t miss your chance to get involved now! Click here to learn more and sign up.
LEAP Clubs
Builders and Makers Club is looking for donations of any craft supply you may have. They are working on a challenge during October that requires using their creative minds to build cardboard box monsters that will be voted on by the students and staff at the end of the month. Ribbons, extra buttons, leftover paints and spray paints, wrapping paper, bottle caps, toilet paper rolls, cardboard boxes, tissue paper, feathers, yarn..anything you can think of that could possibly help them make the best physical representation of their imaginations!
We are also looking for parent volunteers to help over the next couple weeks to assist with this process.
Please contact [email protected] if you are able to volunteer for a Friday from 12:55-1:50.

Toys
We have students who are bringing in toys to the school. This is creating distractions in classrooms. Please do not allow your child to bring toys.
Below is the policy on toys from the Student and Parent Handbook (p. 38).
Toys/Contraband
All personal toys, radios, music players, handheld audio/game systems, slime, putty, fidgets, Legos, blocks, dolls, stuffed animals, etc., are not allowed at school unless the teacher requests that certain items be brought to school for a specific purpose. If a teacher requests this, a written request will be sent home with the student and through teacher communication. Any of these items, or any items that may injure anyone or cause a disturbance, are not allowed at school and will be taken from the student. Furthermore, disciplinary action will occur for bringing this into the school.
If a parent/guardian wishes to reclaim these toys/items, they may come to the school for them. The school will not be responsible for any item that is damaged or disappears at school.
Gum
Please note that candy is not allowed in the school; as a result, gum is not allowed. Please make sure that your child is not bringing gum into the school. Any students who are caught chewing gum will be asked to spit it out. Students carrying gum who are passing it out to other students will have it confiscated.
