YMCA Mentor Program and Collaboration with LABCS
We are excited to announce a partnership with the YMCA and their Mentor program. This wonderful program matches students (mentees) with adults (mentors) in the community. The mentors meet weekly with the mentee at the school. This program provides students with extra support and a positive relationship, so they can achieve their potential!
If you are interested in having your child be a part of the Y Mentor program, please email [email protected]. If you are interested in becoming a Y Mentor, you can fill out the application online.

A Note from the Front Office
Mrs. Kelly Disbrow
Headphones/Ear Buds
All students must have earbuds or headphones in class every day. The school does not provide these.
Absences
If your child is absent from school, you must provide a doctor's note or a parent note within 3 days of returning to school. You can send in a paper copy to the front office, or you can email: [email protected].
Lost and Found
We have a large collection of items in our Lost and Found cabinet - clothes, water bottles, lunch boxes, etc. If your child is missing any items, please swing by the school to check the cabinet. All items unclaimed by December 19, the last day before Holiday Break begins, will be donated to the Dream Center.
A Note from the Testing Coordinator
Mrs. Wendye Henderson
CogAT/IA make-up testing for any 2nd grade student who missed any portion(s) of the test will occur on Monday, October 27, 2025.
A Note from the Reading Coach
Mrs. Jessica Hudson
Our LAB Innovators now have the opportunity to practice their reading skills in an adaptive way with Reading Assistant during the school day. Our students spend approximately 30 minutes per week with this personalized program, which provides real-time interventions to further reading gains. We are excited to implement this new supplemental resource in our literacy program.
A Note from the Student Council Advisor

This is the last week to purchase a sponsorship for our fundraising golf tournament, Tee Up for Dyslexia!
Our golf tournament is one of two major fundraising events that the school holds each year. Sponsorships are an easy way to advertise your business and participate in a fun day for a great cause. Company sponsorships begin at just $300 and go up to $2,500.
