Ms. Brooke’s Math Class Expectations and Information: Grades 6,7,8
Weekly Homework: A worksheet or assignment is given on Monday and due at the end of each week. All homework assignments will be written in the agenda in binders that go home daily. If there is no homework, NONE will be written for the assignment. Homework is graded each week for effort, accuracy, and/or completion. Students have the opportunity to get help during help sessions throughout the week.
Weekly Help Sessions/Retake Procedure for Math: I offer concept review and reinforcement, extra practice, and homework help during recess on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Friday enrichment time is also a good time to come get extra help from myself or Mrs. Reid, the SPED support teacher/case manager. In order to make test corrections, students must come to at least one help session before re-taking or correcting the test/quiz and follow the LAB Middle School Retake Procedure. A link is on my page for that procedure.
Written Assignments: ALL work must be shown. Math should be completed using a pencil, not pen or markers. Name, Date, and Day should be on all work. Wide-ruled notebook paper is required. Please come to class with paper and pencil daily.
Classroom Expectations: Do not disrupt others or interfere with the learning of others. Be respectful. Complete assignments to the best of your ability. Take pride in your work. Help keep the classroom tidy by tucking in your chair, put all trash IN the trash can, wipe down your desk if it needs it, put back/return all borrowed supplies. Be in dress code. Follow the rules and expectations of LAB. Respect school and classroom property. Come to class prepared with materials and a learning mindset. Read and understand behavior expectations in the Student Handbook.
