For the first time in Upstate South Carolina, educators, policy makers and parents will join together in a conference about dyslexia. Make plans now to attend the SC-Mountain Lakes Division of Decoding Dyslexia's Conference, October 22, 9am - 2pm, at 5 Point Church in Easley. The conference will be free.
Laura Cassidy, wife of U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, will be the keynote speaker. The Cassidys have transformed Washington by promoting legislation for dyslexia. They also founded a charter school, Key Academy, for children with dyslexia in Baton Rogue, La.
Ms. Cassidy will be joined by many other top dyslexia scholars and advocates in South Carolina to lead discussions, workshops and presentations. This conference will be especially valuable for parents of children with dyslexia, educators, and those working to make a difference in education.
The members of the founding committee of Lakes & Bridges Charter School look forward to seeing you there.
