In late February, Susie, Carolyn and Nancy, three members of LAB's founding committee, traveled to Thibodaux, Louisiana, to visit a charter school that is setting an inspiring example for teaching children with dyslexia.
The Maxine Giardina Charter School, known as MAX Charter School, is a school for children with dyslexia. They are using a curriculum similar to what we plan to do at Lakes and Bridges, and their students are seeing great improvement.
The board members and administrators of MAX kindly welcomed us into their school and their homes. We were inspired to see not only the passion, but also
the results of their hard work in this school that is making a difference to children with dyslexia.
Thank you, MAX, for the tour, the information, and the inspiration!
